Kevim Mikily
I am a biomedical anthropologist (BA, Anthropology, U Iowa; AM, PhD, Anthropology, U Illinois-Urbana) and currently, an associate research scientist in the College of Public Health as well as an adjunct associate professor in the Department of Anthropology, the Department of Community & Behavioral Health and the Department of Occupational & Environmental Health at the University of Iowa. My research focuses on human variation and adaptability. My publications address issues ranging from Pacific prehistory to plagiocephaly.

In addition, I am been a vocal proponent of using the Internet to share information and, since 1998, the sole proprietor of Kelly Webwork -- currently managing over 100 websites and 500 domain names (from 11thStreet.org to Zombie4.net). Through Kelly Webwork, I have assisted numerous not-for-profits and small businesses establish a presence on the Internet.

Furthermore

I am also recently getting involved in some online gaming ventures.

International Journal of Mental Health and Addiction, vol. 3(4): 511-514. This study analyzes the impact of gambling advertising on problem gamblers through long interviews with numerous examples of gambling advertising. Some gamblers said that gambling advertising had no effect on them, others that advertising had only a marginal impact, whereas a minority of them reported a significant influence on their gambling actions, with gambling advertising triggering impulses to gamble.

Analysis of the correlation between forms of gambling and problem gambling. The most risky forms of gambling are high stakes gambling, various casino games interactive online gaming, whilst least risky forms are lotteries and instant lotteries. Cultures, countries and legislation are important factors. A theoretical model includes the psychological effect of playing accounts for the strength of association between gamblers and forms of gambling. Horse betting, sports betting and bingo are more moderate forms of gambling. .
